I'd recommend Alpinestars Vectors - a slightly more comfortable (softer shell) version of their MX boots, but still with great protection.

They are comfortable straight out of the box and not too clunky for walking around in off the bike...

I have now definitively answered my own questions by wearing NOTHING OTHER than a pair of MX Boots from BRAND NEW out of the box, every single day, for 17 days, over 5000kms.

i have fox f3 boots and im in love with them... i bought them snug and wore them around the house till i felt comfortable in them.. they r no ugg boots but offer great protection not to mention style (i got them in pink white and black) dont ask y the guys ones r pink! lol i know more chicks that have them then guys!
