Just to go against the grain.
I have had 2 leathermans, and quite simply I dont like them. I have a tendancy to use them where I shouldnt just because they are handy. I put more emphasis on a good toolkit, and having it more accesible when travelling. The leathermans, even the small ones are heavy bulky, cant be carried on an airplane, and when you really need them you should have a better tool anyway. ie vise grips, screwdrivers, etc. A more practical option would be a small swiss army knife with a bottle opener. |
... which I've already got (a swiss army knife, that is).

the top of the range gerber pliers has replaceable tungsten carbide lathetool tips in the cutter, and the saw takes jigsaw blades, so you can change them easily to suit what you are doing or if you screw them up.
great idea ------------------ dave |
the CRUNCH totally rules,is a "Vise grip" type and I even use it for temporary clutch levers
