Coleman Dual Fuel & Canadian Gas?

In the manual that accompanies the Coleman Dual fuel Featherlite it states not to use gas/petrol in Canada claiming that Canadian gas has some wierd shit additives in it that clog up the stove.

Anyone have any experience of using Canadian gas in a Coleman Dual Fuel stove?

I'm not sure if Canadian fuel is different to fuel here in the UK - but I contacted Coleman about using leaded fuel when in Africa (which is also not reccomended in the manual) - here's what they said...

"Thank you for your recent enquiry, that was passed onto us from Coleman International. As a "trade only" company we are unable to deal directly with your request and therefore give details below of a mail order company that specialise in Coleman parts and accessories.

I suggest you purchase new generators to take with you if the fuel is that bad over there. Other than taking some Coleman fuel, which you stated you don't want to do, then take spare generators with you. When you get home, clean out the tank on the stove.

1. Get some denatured alcohol and put it into the tank and slosh it around make sure the valve is closed) let it set over night and empty it out.
2. Put some fresh fuel into the tank until it is only 1/2-3/4 full.
3. If the tank won't let you put any pressure in there you will need to change the check valve.

Generator part number #533-5891, for $10.20 plus your local state sales tax, then shipping charges of $4.95. You can order from Coleman by either calling our Toll Free number, 1-800-835-3278, and charging it to a Visa or MasterCard or by sending a letter, along with a check or money order to:
The Coleman Co.
P.O. Box 2931
Dept. 586
Wichita, KS 67201"

If you need a Canadian contact try emailing them at consumerservice@coleman.com or checkout their website at www.coleman.com

Hope this helps...
