Belstaff Roadmaster
Tried searching the web, but no real joy.
Does anyone know of anyone still selling Belstaff wax jackets in the UK? Thanks ------------------ .. no gods .. precious few heroes. |
Barbour.
Being in the UK I thought you would have known. http://www.barbour.com/Product/produ...departmentid=1 |
Yes I knew about Barbour - wear the jackets, but Belstaff make specific motorcycle jackets - mine has finally given up the ghost.
Had a look anyway. Thanks |
How hard could it be to find a Belstaff Roadmaster. ?
I took a look on-line and I did see some on Ebay, UK. But I am not sure if they were the correct jacket. |
The "new" jacket isn't the correct one, and the rest are the wrong size / suspect condition.
When I started looking for one of these I thought it would be easy .... |
Ken's Motorcycles on Westgate Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, (0191 2321793)do new Belstaff gear. If they don't have one in stock they'll be able to order you one. Westgate Road is full of bike shops and a popular bikers hangout so it might be worth the ride.

Thanks
Gave them a call, but they have stopped doing Belstaff. On the bright side this gives me something to do ! |
Hiya,
I've got one for sale. It's not new, but it is in good condition, having been recently washed and reproofed. Not sure if it's exactly the model you want - it's got padding on shoulders & elbows, a reflective belt 2 waist pockets, 2 chest pockets and an inside pocket. Size label says med, Euro 48/50 which is a 38/40" UK size. It's now a bit too small for me, I was going to eBay it, but........ |
I've had a root about in the old mags pile and I've got last years catalogue from Phoenix distribution, they distribute Belstaff, Aria and Shark helmets and a few other things (or at least they did last year). They give the number for your nearest dealer 0870 2203700 or www.phoenixnw.co.uk or try www.belstaff.com.
The trailmaster is still in the catalogue, but it is now called the classic, and they do them in wax cotton (£130), leather (£300!) and modern fabrics (£150). If all that fails then try Barbour as they do make a motorcycle jacket and trousers that is almost identical to the trialmaster and you'll be able to order one from most fishing shops/gunsmiths I think. |
oldbaldrick - thanks, but I too need something in a "larger size"
Neilio - thanks also for the research. I will look at the Barbour, as Phoenix tell me they no longer distribute Belstaff as they are moving into designer clothing and it is not heavy weight. |
I had a look on the barbour website and they still do a bike jacket, apparently it's been in the catalogue since 1937, and it's called The International Jacket.

I have heard some conflicting stuff about Belstaff. I have heard that they have been bought up and are no longer making bike gear. (shame I love my Trailmaster, v. oldschool!)and that the UK part of the business has closed down. My local bike shop 'Alvins' in edinburgh is selling off all there old stock. If you phoned them (you are in UK?) no doubt they could tell you the whole story. Sorry dont have a number but they are sure to be on Yell.com

I'd also heard that Belstaff were taking a year out! which sounded a bit strange. Their old wax cotton gear is still available at www.oldbikeshop.com
Be a shame if the brand goes, I've got one of their modern fabric jackets and it's been fine. |
yes - checked the old bike shop, but they say that once the stock is gone - that's it.
Didn't have my size - ordered a Barbour |
KENS motorcycles in westgate hill newcastle on tyne had a few belstaff wax jackets left on the shelf a few weeks ago when i was in. but being honest the barbour motorcycle jacket ( looks almost the same as the belstaff) is just as good if not better and are still being made in the uk (Belstaff were made in china or somewhere but have gone bust anyway) - available through the barbour factory outlet shop at south shields for about £100.00
