Electric water pump on a BMW F650GS???
 

I have a 2004 F650GS Dakar and have so far had many trouble free miles.
The Achilles heel of these bikes appears to be the mechanical water pump.
I know its been done with a AC washing machine pump and an inverter which worked but is a bit OTT. Has anyone considered replacing this with a 12v electrical pump?

Thought about it a while ago, but didn't get past the thinking about it stage...
