I am looking for some updated 2010 Tyre Stats
MC KAROO 5500KMs on rear, front still ok but getting lost in the world soon and i need some good high milage Tyres, any sugestions

Someone just put 20K km on a set......

I have just put some Mechelin Anakee 2's on my Strom 1000. They handle much better than the old Bridgestone Trailwings. I just got back from the pyrenees and they were great, its also claimed that they allegedly last 29% longer than similar tyres. But that we will wait and see...

My friend has them on his GS and he also works in the tyre trade, says he wouldn't use any other tyre.

We all prefer Anakee-2 tyres..But check the production dates whatever the brand is..The more fresh the more better..

I had to get a new boot for the rear so i ended up getting a set of Heidenau's and see how they work out,I was kind of hoping that with all of our wizards of knowledge and stats here in the hub that someone may have stumbled across a new tyre compairison stats.I cannot seem to find any charts of milage compairisons based on average riders and i may have missed a post made here in the hub.I tried doing a search here but nothing had what i was looking for

Tyres is a bit of a mystery ,some guys get a lot of miles out of one brand and others don't ,however a good long range tyre if you want a pure road tyre is the Metzeler ME 880.
A dual sport high miler is the Metzeler Tourance .
But they are a little more expensive than the rest so the cost per mile may be not so good .I've got Annakee 2s on my bike at the moment and wouldn't really say they were particularly long lasting ,but I did get them for a good price so I'm happy .Going to try Distanzias next as my son gets good mileage out of them on his DRZ .:scooter:

Look into the Heidenau tyres. I just rode 27,000 km on my Heidenau scout front. For an idea, thats from Bolivia to USA. From Arizona to NJ and then NJ to Montana. I replaced it as I was replacing my Pirelli rear but the front still had cupping and could've done 30,000 km easy. I've seen the Heidenau rears as well, and they look NIIIIICE! A great dual sport rear. It was fitted on a few BMWs actually. Check em out! Affordable tyres too.

I currently have Michelin Anakees on my R1200GSA. They lasted longer than the previous Continentals but the front tire develops serious cupping patterns. (8,000mls).

I use Metzler tourance on my GSA and get good milage, but i wouldn't recommend the new tourance exp.

similar to Karoo, you should try Continental TKC80
perfect on OFFROAD and also on tarmac...
minimum 10.000km milage..

Well here I am in Costa Rica with a set of Heidenous and they look like new still 23,000 Kms.

Heidenau K60 Scout
 

Hi, i was looking for a rear tyre that would give me at least 5500 miles and be capable on trails. I am hard on tyres and only get around 3000 miles from my beloved TCK80 and Tourance on my XT660Z. I went for the Heidenau K60 Scout which has now done 4000 miles and looks like it will just last another 1.5K to get me home. It is good offroad but not as grippy as i would like on the cols chasing sports bikes. plenty of people get far higher milage from them but this is my honest assessment. Andy

+1 for the Metzeler Tourance but NOT the Exp.

We rode 2up from Varanasi India to Innsbruk Austria, approx 18,000kms on the one set of Metzeler Tourances. We strongly recommend them, especially for the likes of the GS. It's an all around great tyre. :thumbup1:

Well here is a update,I went with the Heidenau scout tires and well i have been to every country in the Americas starting from Vancouver Canada,the tires are now in need of replacement but this is the important information running at an average of 28psi frnt and 30psi rear combinded weight of rider and gear at aprox. 400lbs my milage for the tires are 29,000 kms. run on Paved gravel and some 600 miles of seriously bad Mountain passes in Guatemala.
Never in my life have i had such fantastic life from a tire,they are loud they are not the best in mud increadible for rough rock and gravel terain as well as on paved roads.They are not all that good in the rain my R1200GSA lights them up on straightaways and caution had to be used in corners but i am a very agressive rider one might say so if i were to give a star rating for the Heidenau Scout Tires :D:D:D:D

If you want a tyre that is long lasting try Mitas E-07s. They are a 50/50 on/off road tyre so great for all types of road surface, though not so good in mud!

I used them on my recent trip to Mongolia and back via the Stans on my XT600.

I got about 10,000 miles out of the front and about 14-15,000 miles out of the rear and its only half worn!

The chap I rode with most of the way got slighly better milage than me out of the front, due I suspect to the hi-tech suspension on the front of his BMW 1200 Adventure.
