Speedo. 2007 F650GS
 

The speedo on my 2007 F650GS has stopped working. At first it was intermittent and would drop out and in as I was riding. Now it's not registering at all. So both the speedo and odometer aren't working. Everything else on the instrument cluster is working as normal, including the tachometer.


I can't see any obvious flaws in the Speed Sensor Cable. The spacing between the notched ring on the wheel and the tubular sensor seems a bit big but it still doesn't work even when I bring it in closer by playing with the distance. I have thoroughly cleaned the sensor and the notched ring; I've checked all fuses just in case.



Any idea where to start looking for the flaw? I'm not thrilled about getting a new $en$or cable if I don't have too.
