source for R80G/S odometer trip reset button?

Has anyone found a source for the trip reset buttons on G/S's and GS's?

I've sent an email to Motometer, with no reply... and the known rebuilder Palo Alto Speedo wants $29.99 for the button alone!

Mine is torn and leaking...

hey there i had the same problem with my r80 g/s.
i got my hands on a new grommet from a company called macam rubber in australia. they send out free samples so it didn't cost me a cent, they even express post it out.
if all you need is the rubber grommet let me know and i can give you a part number for it.

Absolutely! I would appreciate the help. Can you post the part number and I will contact them? Could you post a picture of your new grommet installed?

Thank you!

sorry about the delay, i;ne been out of town.

i got a chance to get a photo of the grommet, but can't seem to find the part number. i will have to rmove the gromment and measure it to determine what part number it is.

what you need to do it screw out the trip switch and remove the old grommet. then measure the diameter of the trip stwitch and the hole in the perspex face of the speedo. do they measure 5mm and 14mm respectively?

the only reason i ask this is because my speedo has had the gears repaired once and i'm not sure if the hole in the perspex face is orignal or not.

give me a few days to determine the part number.
