Service rear shock or not? R1200GS

Hi guys,

I am planning a 35000km trip through africa in April 2013. My bike has 62000km on the clock.

Should i service the shock before i leave or should i rather leave it untampered and nurse it through the trip?

Cheers
Riaan

Good question, my rear shock died a silent death from around ~70kkm. As for servicing, it would probably be cheaper to pick up a "new" oem from ebay. Or get a hyperpro or something else...

Personally I would not leave on a bike, that I know to have something, that might pose a problem. MUCH easier and probably a whole lot cheaper as well, to have it done before, than during the trip. But just my 0.02 of course.
