Raising a BMW F650 ST

I currently have an F650 ST which has had a 19" front wheel and uprated fork springs fitted. Although this has raised the bike slightly, even with the rear shock setting at max, I find the bike to low. I am about to get the seat recovered and hope to gain some height from this, but wondering, does anyone have any other ideas of how I can raise the height of the bike?

Many Thanks,

Dave

I know that on the f650 gs and cs you can get a kit from BMW that raises the seat. I don't know how much you gain but it might be worth a try if you haven't already done it.

Leaving for Russia in two days - yippee!

Can anyone tell me how far the front forks should protrude above the top clamp on a standard F650 ST. Mine are currently sticking out 1 1/2" which seems pretty excessive to me. This could well be the source of the 'super low ride'!!!

Many Thanks

Dave

If the bike is still too low, look in to fitting the 21" front wheel from the 650 Dakar. You'll also need to raise the rear end to avoid that Easy Rider look, judging by photos, the Dakar also has a longer shock to level the bike out.
