I might still have a set of Marzocchi USD 45mm forks from an X-CHallenge available.

Yes, how much do you think they are worth?

Frame, sub-frame and various components powder coated;

Acerbis hand guards (£20 from DirtBikeBitz, rather than £50 from Touratech);

Nuts and bolts replaced with a stainless kit (mostly Motobins, although it wasn't a complete set);
Downpipes and silencer replaced with a Keihan stainless set;
Fork seals replaced;
Push-rod seals replaced, and stainless steel tubes added;
Tank, mudguards and side panels repainted (fairing removed);
Headlight replaced with twin lights;
Instruments replaced with an Acewell digital system;
Timing chain replaced;
Carbs refurbished;
Pistons and heads de-coked;
1 exhaust valve replaced;
Alternator, diode board, regulator, hall sensor all replaced with improved versions ("police spec" from Motorworks);
Touratech single seat;
New side panels (from Boxxerparts).

The starter motor was also replaced recently with one of the "improved" Valeo starters.


The Acewell is indeed ace. It's connected into the speedo drive output on the gearbox using a cable from Boxxerparts (great shop).


One problem - the side panels are fiberglass copies. The man who did the painting said that it's difficult for them to get a perfect and lasting finish on fiberglass surfaces. The material also dents very easily.

I also ditched the crash bars, pannier frame, metal panniers and Touratech tank bag. Even off-road, i've never crashed hard enough to need the bars. And I'm never going to use hard panniers again. I've learned to pack light - just a simple Ortlieb bag on the back and a small rucksack.

Total weight saving? Around 20kg, and it shows!
