Questions re: ESA rear shock rebuilt
 

I am currently travelling in South America.
In Bolivia, the rear shock of my R1200GS started to leak oil.
Now I am in Sucre, Bolivia and took my GS to a local repair shop (non BMW).
The mechanic reckons he is able to repair it (changing the oil seal and refill oil), but he would like to know a few things before he starts the job/

My shock is with ESA.

1. Viscosity of oil used for the standard BMW shock
2. The amount of oil should be refilled
3. If it is a good idea to refill oil with higher viscosity than standard

He said he would like to do the job good and these information will help us a lot.
