Malaysia and Sumatra on a 800 GS, two up
Here are some remarks after 6 weeks touring these beautiful countries:
- Reliable bike - Bike fully equipped by Touratech - Ideal bike for this kind of trip - I had a 1200 GS before and I am happy to have the 800 now: 1200 too big, too heavy 800 good compromise power / weight, enough power, good torque - It’s not an enduro, but no problems on easy piste - Don’t forget to switch off ABS as soon as you leave good tarmac Albert |
We've tried the 800GS but found it too small for long distance two-up trips. How's your experience with that issue, especially compared to the 1200?
|
Well, as I said, I had a 1200 before and I prefer the 800 by far, for these kind of trips.
If you only ride on highways or good tarmac roads you should go for the 1200. Good luck with your choice Albert |
