G650GS Sertao - Weight Reduction Ideas
Hey guys, do you have any suggestions for saving weight without compromising reliability of the bike? Will start with a couple that come to my mind:
1. Performance exhaust 2. Li-Ion Battery Cheers! |

My experience with it is that it'll never be enough. So I ditched it and got a WRR. Dead weight is only part of the issue. Bikes are dynamic which means you get to deal with inertia. The thing is just to big for it's class in dimensions which increases the effort put on the rider to compensate for it. I got it to 180kg fully fueled and it took ages and it only marginally felt lighter to ride. Much easier to lift up though. :D |
Humm... Thats a great point. If there is no gain in doing so, it would be better to spend the time and money somewhere else. :thumbup1:

There are plenty of things to prep and design faults to fix on that bike. That and suspension are better investments

Agree with TmOtten. Start with a much lighter bike.
