BMW F800GS rebuild

Hey guys, hoping you can help me out.

Found an F800GS for sale in my area that needs some work. The ad posted said it needs a new speedo, headlight, and front mud flap. Seems like it will need a bit more than that such as windscreen, maybe some new plastics, and the electrical wiring looks pretty bad.

Despite this, apparently it is in perfect running condition and has been ridden like this, so I'm assuming it is only cosmetic. My question is, how much of a pain in the ass would it be to fix this up to use for trips and would it cost an arm and a leg? The poster is asking for 5,000 (canadian dollars). What does everyone think of this?

Any help would be appreciated.

You could be into that for several thousand dollars if you buy the parts new.
I have heard that new dash needs programming to the bike's ECU and that many dealers will not do that for a used part.
New rubber also required by the looks of things and there's another 500 bucks.
I wouldn't necessarily say No, but if it were me I would cost it very carefully including asking the local dealer what services they can offer that would need the dealer computer stuff....
Also check the title - if it is salvage, you will not recoup the money.
