'95 GS oil/fluid on rear wheel
Hello,
I have a '95 GS that I've owned for 6 years. Bought it with 2400 miles (yes, you read that right)- long story. I'm a relative newbie rider- this is my first bike- and not a mechanic tho I am mechanically inclined. Since buying the bike I've done routine maintenance and rebuilt the starter. Recently noticed quite a bit of oil/lubricant build up on rear wheel. After talking with a few airhead guys I've heard that I may have a bad rear seal due to the age of the bike. Any advice on what to do or would be appreciated! Thanks! Mike |
Ummmm.........replace the faulty seal doh
Just look it up on youtube :thumbup1: |
Find out where the oil is coming from. Remove the wheel.
Other than the main seal there is the drum brake pivot, and the bolts that hold things together. Degrease and clean it all off if it is not obvious where it is coming from. |
Hi !
by the "Haynes service & repair manual" n°3466 could be a good start:thumbup1:
