Anyone know why wiring would burn out all around the earth point on right side of engine and a couple of red wires too....???

BMW did do a recall for the loom in the mid/late-2000's on that side of the engine. Give your local BMW steal-ership a call with your VIN and see if it's been done - you never know, you might get a free fix out of them!

Been onto Rainbow BMW who say that there is a recall on these bikes due to wiring chafing .... be interesting to see how they deal with a burnt out mess... I feel they will say it's too long overdue.. We are going in tomorrow to see them....:crying:

I'd be inclined to press the issue - depending on the price of the loom. Is it a big job?
Maybe contacting the original dealer who sold it - if you know who they are and they're local. You could negotiate to pay for fitting only. If you have a service book with a few dealer stamps in it that might help your case.
Alternatively a different dealer may be more obliging.
Another option is to appeal to the service dept. at UK head office.
