2011 G650GS - Wire Wheel options????

Hi all,

I have been a member of HUBB for a while but cant remember if I have ever posted - if not then hello to all!

Down to my question........bit of a long shot and I think I know the answer but.....are there any wire spoked wheels to fit my 2011 G650GS? I appreciate that the bike is more road orientated and its a case of how much do I want to spend but its been faultless for the last 12k and I'd like to keep it. However, I have concerns over a) no way of fitting tubes and b) cost of whole unit replacement if wheel gets damaged versus cost of spokes/rim/hub. Having spoken to Motorworks it seems that the Sertao front wheel is too big and would mean a new front end so I was looking for advice on perhaps the old F650 Funduro wheel sets or similar? My bike has a 19" front (None ABS) and a 17" rear with ABS.

Probably more cost effective to get shut and start again Im guessing........

Any help would be appreciated, Matt

I've seen some recent g650 which are ex ORS with wire wheels and ABS , so they're available somewhere ! Last bikes I saw were at Williams Manchester - May be worth calling Jim there (parts manager) and see if he knows of the supply

I've ridden on trails with a mate who has a G, and the alloys so seem OK. My worry is always the right hand valve stem breaking on a rock! There's a few bods done the run to mag adman on them as we'll

I've a Sertao G650 which is super - wire wheels as standard
