1150 Gsa Tire Balancing
I am in Peru carrying a new rear TKC that I need to swap out. There is not a place near here to get the wheel balanced. Could I cause and damage to the driveshaft by driving highway speeds with an unbalanced wheel?
Thanks Mike |
If it's horrendously badly out of balance, in theory yes, but in practice very very unlikely. Not something I'd personally worry about. Be sure you have the paint dot at the valve stem, and that's probably good enough. IF you notice a new vibration, slow down till it goes away, at least until you can get it balanced.

Not a good idea to go fast on TKC's, especially on the 1200GSA. See other posts here about that. . . . .
I also have an 1150GS, almost always changed my own tyres by using tire levers, never done the balancing and never had a problem, even at high speeds. (done 170K plus, so plenty of experience) I used TKC's front and rear, as well as Michillin Anakees. Dont worry about it. |
