1150 GS Headlight modification in USA
I am taking my GS to USA for 3 months, is it necessary to convert the dipped beam headlight for LHD, even though I am not proposing much night riding? In Europe I rely on tape on the lens, but this is not very efficient, has anyone encountered any problem with thus in US?

As a general rule you are not required to do any conversions whatsoever if you're just passing through.
The average North American cop is barely aware that people drive on the other side of the road, and that their headlight might be different, and it would certainly never occur to him to check. Check the owner's manual. I could have sworn that my manual has something on how to flip the dip over. I'm not near my bike at the moment but when I get home I'll try to remember to look it up. It seems that a lot of American riders go to great lengths to make themselves more conspicuous, running high beams during the daylight, extra running lights and even flashing headlights. I pulled my manual from the bike and on page 36 of the service booklet it shows how to flip the headlight for rhd and lhd. Remove the windshield and fairing (number plate thingy) and then there is a clamp that is rotated while pushing in the headlight. Turn to the left stop for driving on the left and to the right for driving on the right.
