07 gsa noise,trans?engine?

Ive got a knock that only happens above 4000 rpm under load, cant tell if its the motor or trans.called the dealer(262 miles away)and they told me its normal.she runs fine but the knocking seems to be getting louder.should i just ride it or bring it in?its been doing it since the day i picked it up with 10 miles on it.the guys at the adv.riders site told me to put earplugs in.its about a month old with 3000 miles now.i had an 02 rt and never had any noises like this.if i keep it around 60-70mph and dont accelerate too hard it stays quiet,if i bring her up over 4 grand the noise is very noticable alnost like a bad throwout bearing knocking around.

No that sounds about right. Mine makes a different noise when cold & under acceleration than when its hot & under acceleration.

What you're describing is my 'hot' sounds. I dont think its anything to worry about. Using the correct rated oils (20w50) helps keep things quiet. 10w40 sounds a right old bucket of nails! ;-)

If in doubt, find someone with a similar bike and go compare.

1200GSA engine noise

Not sure about the knock, but with helmet, ear plugs and up to speed, I hear engine noise that doesn't sound healthy. In a parked position, helmet off, it sounds great reving it up, etc. Mine seems to be resonating up through the fork opening as I ride. I have ignored it for 18K and it still works!
Allen.
