*SOLD*

Hi Overlanders!

I am selling my Swiss registered XT660Z Tenere in Buenos Aires or Santiago. The bike will be available to view in Santiago (26 August - 1st Sept) or Buenos Aires (6-16th September). I'm happy to sell in either country if I get the right offer.

As someone on else on this forum has said, the Yamaha Tenere XT660Z is great alternative for someone who doesn't want BMW GS but DR650 feels a bit too small or unrefined. Its mechanicals are bullet proof and Yamaha parts are plentiful down in South America (as opposed to BMW parts) should the worst happen. Has original 22 litre fuel tank so easily does 400-450km with as it consumes about 1 litre of gasoline per 20 km.

I bought the bike in April in Switzerland with 15,000kms from a lady who had owned it from new. It has a full Yamaha main dealer service history and if you know much about bikes from Switzerland they are only driven on glass smooth roads with people who have plenty of money to maintain them.

Before I started my trip in South America, I had a full service performed at Yamaha Folkstone in the UK at the price of £500 to make absolutely sure the bike was fit for service. The service included:

- New chain and sprocket set
- Oil change
- New K&N airfilter
- Coolant top-up
- New Heidenau K60 Scout tires front and rear
- New brake pads front and rear
- Cush drive rubber replaced and greased

I also took the opportunity to install:
- Hepco & Becker rear rack
- Daytona heated grips (4 modes, get really hot!)
- Dual USB charger with dedicated switch and waterproof sheath
- Quadlock mount for phone
- +30mm rear suspension lift (rides perfectly and compensates well for weight of rear luggage)
- Hepco & Becker center stand
- Custom made extended side stand so the bike leans at the right angle (important when heavily loaded!)
- SW Motech side stand footplate extender (works perfectly even on sand).

All in all the bike roughly cost me 8000 USD to purchase and prepare.

I flew the bike from Heathrow to Bogota on 3rd June and have enjoyed 10'000km of trouble free motoring since. I have changed the oil every 3-4'000km as I didn't know if I would take the bike home or not so I wanted to maintain the longevity of the engine.

Of course the bike is in a used condition. I've dropped it twice, it made a crack on the headlight faring (not the headlight unit itself) but mainly just scuffed the crash bars not affecting the operation of anything.

I'm looking for 4'500 USD for a quick sale (open to offers). Current ODO reads 26'000kms and will most likely hit 29'000kms (18'000 miles) by the time I reach Buenos Aires. This makes the bike one of the lowest km Euro bikes on the market. I don't mind servicing the bike for new owner and putting on some new tires if thats required.

Other extras that will come with the bike:

- Givi 80L Roll bag
- Enduristan Monsoon 3 soft panniers (a little battered at this point but you're welcome to them)
- Tool role and breaker bar to remove and torque rear wheel
- 3 spare inner tubes
- Fuses
- Suction pump to remove fuel
- 1L plastic fuel can

All paper work available (in my name) and have a pretty good idea what it will take to transfer the bike legally in both countries.

I've included honest pictures, some from before I left and some from the road in South America. Its dirty in some of the pictures but thats what its for :) I do however do my best to wash it as regularly as I can if I'm in a high salt area.
