Can't buy/sell, so rent
 

As noted, foreigners - or should I say: regular overlanding tourists - can't easily buy or sell bikes in Morocco, same as all of North Africa.
But unusually you can rent anything from a scooter to a 1250GS.

Foreigners living in Morocco can buy and sell Moroccan-plated vehicles but need to show a copy of their residence card, see here for more information. And if you have a residence card you are no longer permitted to drive foreign-registered vehicles that have been temporarily imported (the vehicle is seized and the penalty is to pay the very high import tax).

Non-Moroccan plated vehicles can be bought and sold by foreigners, and in the case of a UK vehicle it would involve the completion of the particular parts of the V5C document, however the previous owner normally retains the bulk of the V5C to send off to DVLA and this could present a problem if stopped when exiting the country. Probably best to retain all sections of the V5C and to have a notarised letter of authority from the previous owner permitting you to drive it.

I could imagine a sale happening if a vehicle has to be repaired after an accident as it can be seized if it isn't taken out of the country before time runs out on the temporary importation. So care needs to be taken to ensure the vehicle hasn't been in Morocco for more than six months in any calendar year (three months for commercial vehicles, don't know where this stands for vans converted to motorhomes).

A good friend of mine is resident and has a foreign registered car in Morocco, its just not allowed more than 180 days a year. Same with a couple of people I know who own campsites/hotels and have foreign vehicles in country.

As we know, only the person named on the TVIP can legally drive a foreign registered car in Morocco so I assume if its sold in country there are various hoops to jump through with customs
