My friend and I will be selling our Mexican plated Honda XR190Ls in Mexico in the middle of January.
We bought them new in Mexico City in September/October and are currently riding them in Guatemala with our final stop being somewhere in Quintana Roo Mexico. We expect about 6000-7000kms to be on them by the time we finish the trip. There is a minor scuff on the back of one of them (backed into a building), but neither has ever been dropped or wrecked. The 2nd service has also been done on both and we line the chains every 1000kms or so. They are titled in our names, but registered in my Mexican friends name. We have a power of attorney which allows us to cross borders with the motorcycles and has already worked to get into Guatemala. We have the facturas (titles) and all documents except for the tarjeta de circulación (registration) in our names so you will be the legal owners once we make the transfer. We just need to write that we are selling them to you on the back of the factura. They would be completely legal to drive in your name until you sell them. We can also arrange a new carta de poder as part of the deal if you like which will allow you to cross borders with the bikes.
