Renting a bike in Addis Ababa
 

Would any kind soul have information on motorcycle rentals in Ethiopia. I have a trip lined up next month. Still don't have a bike lined up :helpsmilie: . No issues renting in Uganda but for some reason Addis is another story. You'd think otherwise - since it appears the govt. just banned motorcycles in the capital. People should have their machines sitting idle and ready to rent.

Hi, I tried renting a bike when I was living there in 2012/3, so info is probably outdated. Was not able to find any decent bikes, only thing possible at the time was renting 150cc Chinese bikes in Meskel Square, city center Addis.
There were a couple of guys posted there giving lessons/fun rides around the square, but also able to make a deal on renting for a longer period.
Even if they are still there, I would not recommend long distance travel with them, but worth a try.
