RENT a bike in Bangkok - 1 month - december
 

Hi,

I'm in Bangkok and a friend is coming over. We want to travel north of thailand, just backpacking. Would love to rent a bike in Bangkok and ride everything.

Chiang mai, Pai and such are on the list.
Anybody got advice on whether this is a good idea and on bike renting ? Do want something safe and suitable for 2 people and two small backpacks.

Instead of renting in BKK why dont you you get the overnight train from BKK to CM and rent direct from there? There are a lot of bike rentals up there and most of them do 500/600 cc bikes

I am doing that in about another 2.5 weeks

Thanks! Yes, that was the other option. But since we start in bangkok.. I thought might as well do it right there. But chiang mai might be easier, except for that I have to return the bike there. So that sort of ties me, and we will fly from bkk 10th of January so returning the bike there would be easy.
