Motorcycle swap sought America to Australia.
I am from Petersburg Alaska when not traveling (which is 3/4 of the year) I am looking for a bike exchange for Jan. and feb. in Australia. I have currently an 2010 800 GS set up for travel which I just did a run to South America on. I am 62 and have a lot of motorcycle travel under my belt. If you have a travel bike and are interested in touring the states next summer and a trade let me know and we can talk. G'day Bill,
I am based in Cairns, Far North Queensland. I try to undertake a shorter duration trip each year and I've been considering a motorcycle journey starting in Alaska and heading down to the Pacific Northwest in 2014. Have at least 2 months leave with some flexibility between late June - August. That time of year is also ideal for travelling through Central and Northern Australia if your planning a visit? I'm also considering some other overseas destinations however thought I would touch base to assess your thoughts after reading your post. My last ride was through Southern Argentina and Chile earlier this year on a Honda 250 which I bought new and sold again in Chile. Have not tried the 'bike swap' concept yet however am quiet open to the idea.
