Hi.

Anyone very recently ridden this road, and have an update on fuel availability ?

Thanks i agree it's a great site. I was also hoping to maybe connect with someone who has actually been on the road one end to the other..........is it worth doing etc. Cheers. Geoff.

ExploreOz also has a forum where you might get some useful info.

Problem with many of the trek reports is they are too dated to be super-reliable and anyway, info on Oz road conditions is only of use if it was issued the morning of your trip. Conditions can change too fast although I think they do try to keep up with fuel supplies especially on such a well-travelled track.

As there is no other alternative route .. unless you want to detour many 100's of kms .. the question "is it worth doing?" does not make much sense?

I believe "Rabbit Flat Roadhouse" is closed and I'd act as if it is. He was talking about retirement some years ago.

It is a 'nice trip'. But you'll have the road conditions of the time.
