Ride in Western Europe - Mar/Apr 2014
 

Hi travellers

A friend and I are travelling through Western Europe in March/April 2014, and are happy for others to come along if interested. Bikes are being shipped Perth to London, but you could just as easily hire in the UK if preferred.

The route is London-Calais-Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Budapest-Vienna-Venice-Montpelier. We expect the journey to take approximately 3 weeks, with mornings spent travelling on the motorcycle and afternoons available to explore the region.

Both of us are very experienced motorcycle travellers (60 countries in the past 2 decades, see a past trip here: Tandoori Tour 2010), and we travel on a light but sensible budget. This means eating at small establishments and budget hotel accommodation.

Budget for the entire trip is approx $6K, including all airfares, bike shipping, accommodation, fuel, etc.

Hi Guys,

I plan to do western and Eastern Europe mid 2016. 4 month trip.
Have never done motorcycle travel. Just starting my research and wondering which insurance companies you are using for green card, motorbike. Been reading that a carnet is not needed in Europe, but is it a good idea to have it anyway?
