New Zealand Road Trip
Hi My family and I (2 adults a 14 yr old and 10 yr old) are planning to do a road trip in the South Island from the 4th April to the 13 April 2016. Our itinerary is:
4th April - Arrive from Auckland (we are spending five days at the Beach Hop North Island) to Queenstown about 1.30pm 5th April - Spend day in Queenstown 6th April - Drive to Te Anau meet coach 12noon to travel to Milford Sound for overnight cruise 7th April - dropped back to Te Anau then drive back to Arrowtown 8th April - leave Arrowtown about lunchtime travel up to Lake Tekapo 9th April - afternoon drive to Wanaka for stop over 10th April - Drive Fox Glacier 11th April - not sure whether to stay in Greymouth or go through to Arthurs Pass 12th April - travel to Christchurch 13th - Fly back to Sydney I would appreciate advice if this is a realistic itinerary. Hi mate, that's not too bad for a quick look around.
I would drive out to Milford rather than take the bus if you can. There's heaps of stuff to see along the way. If you're not sick of driving twisty roads by the time you get to Greymouth, extending the drive up the coast to Westport, then looping back via the Buller, is all really nice. Have fun Clint |
