I think you are unlikely to find alu panniers in NZ. When I left hardly anyone was using "normal" panniers, let alone alu ones. In Oz try www.exploroz.com for current track conditions, weather, some good dual sport rides, fuel prices. forums, heaps and heaps of useful info. While this is a 4WD orientated site this info is useful to all.
