HU Travellers Meeting in OZ
Hi,
My wife and I are going down to the meeting in February. Is there anyone from Brisbane or surrounds who would like to travel down with us? We are thinking on leaving thursday afternoon to stagger the trip. email See you, FR |
Hi Daniele, Good to see you are still keen to go travelling by bike. Have you bought a bike yet? We will not be able to get to the HU meet this year - still in India now. Have a great time at the rally and say hi to Ken & Carol for us.
John & Alanna |
There is a good chance that I will attend but Thursday am will be when I depart Brisbane. Not via the highways but the scenic route and mountains where possible. Hopefully get back to Brisbane on the Tuesday afternoon.
Let me know if you change your mind and leave early Glen |
Got a bike....
yes John, Nicole and I bought a 1200gs. i know it's crazy, but by the time we make our trip across Asia, it will as modern as a 100gs. I am still waiting to read the news about india, we log in everyday to check. could we hope for new pictures and interisting stories?
Glen, Nicole and I have to check with work commitments, but we'll let you know. please send me an email before you go, so we can keep in touch. Thanks again, FR |
Hi, we will be going down but leaveing on the Tuesday or Wednesday, it starts on the Friday night so Thursday afternoon wont give you much time for staggering. I will have a display there for the Jesse Luggage systems, hope to see you there. Lachlan.
|
We will be leaving on wednesday night....
or thursday morning. i have just talked to Nicole and that definitely the plan. so, please let us know. i am really looking forward to travel down with someone else. thanks,
FR ps: if you're going where do you plan to stop. thanks. |
Best root !!!
Here is a suggested route a good friend of mine prepared earlier.
I had looked at a different route 1 way, but then considered almost constant twisties for over 600km from Grafton to Lithgow & thought why? So, 1,720 kms Brisbane, Rathdowney, Kyogle, Casino, Grafton, Ebor, Armidale, Walcha, Stroud, Singleton, Wilberforce, Lithgow, Bathurst, Cowra, Young, Cootamundra, Gundagai, Tumut, Cabramurra, Tintaldra. Plan to leave early Thursday morning to get a good deal of K's covered that day. This should work, let me know what you think! Glen |
Great.
i am going to talk to Nicole tonight, and give you a call if don't get home too late.
Talk to you later, FR |
Any other takers?
We have 3 in our group so far, Brisbane to Tintaldra!
|
And then there was 6! Now this should be fun. :funmeteryes:
|
Wow!
sorry Glen,
i was really busy and din't have the chance to reply. been looking at sheepskin. so we are six now? that's great. i will try to call you in the morning. talk to you later, FR |
I'm leaving Canberra on Friday morning via the Hume.
|
via the hume
that sounds a little boring ,whats wrong with the cooma, thredbo way
|
Newbie would love a lift from Sydney!
I'm not sure which of the threads is best to post in so I've put this in both:
I'm in Sydney and would love to come to the HU weekend (23rd to 25th Feb '07) but I currently have no means of transport to get me there and back! If anyone knows of anyone who'd be prepared to put an extra 85kgs on the back of their bike for the trip down, I'd be extremely grateful and happy to contribute for costs, fuel etc and shout a few cold beers too. Please let me know if you can help or are aware of anybody who might be in a position to. Many thanks Rob |
A ride from Sydney
Hi Rob,
I will email those coming from Sydney and see if anyone is interested in sharing the cost!! Whereabouts are you? Sian.. |

Sydney Riders
Hi Rob, I am heading out from Syd but unfortunatly still on P's so no pillion allowed. Plus I am riding a Hyosung GV250 so we would probably have to leave today to make it on time. :cool4:
Hope you find a way mate and we will see you there! |
Cheers Dodds - I'm sure I'll find a way somehow...
Please let me know if you hear of anyone else heading down....who might have room |
Glad to see there's more people here.
Well, there is still time to call all QLDers to attend the HU Meeting, or even all those on the way. We are (Loxsmith is in charge) leaving at 5oish from Brisbane.
So let's keep in touch, see you soon, FR |
G'day all

I am coming down from Mudgee leaving Thursday am and will go the long way (via south coast) if nobody around on Friday morning to do the Khancoban Jindabyne Kiandra curciut. Actually leaving home Tuesday am so leave replies before Moday pm please. Cheers TC |
Hi, topcot, we are setting out tomorrow and staying with friends at Orange Wednesday night and are looking at getting to Tintaldra early Friday afternoon, this is a bit late but we will be on a over loaded 1150 Adventurer. Locky.

Important Info
We will be sending a message to all, but thought I would give you the heads up here first :-)
Please bring enough cash with you to Tintaldra for the weekend, the Hotel doesn't take cards!! Not sure where the nearest bank is, but have a sneaking suspicion it could be Albury/Wodonga! I'm sure you can correct me on this one David. Thanks, Sian |

corryong not far
25 kms around 10 or 15 minutes ride

Last Call
We are meeting at Chardons Corner Hotel, Ipswich Rd, Annerley, fueled and ready to leave at 5am Thursday morning. A little early for a beer but it's a nice central place for us all to meet. Any last minute starters, just turn up and join in.

What a trip!
Over 3400km door to door and only 20km on the Hume Highway. The rest was mountain ranges and just corner after corner. Can't ask for more than that. Congratulations to Sian & Arno for a very well organised meeting. Fantastic atmosphere, lots of brilliant presenters (laughed 'til my sides split, thanks Adrianne) good food, and lots of like minded people that were not afraid to share their knowledge.
'Til next time ride safe and "Travel Your World" Glen :funmeteryes: |
as everyone said,
it was great to meet so many people, it was a great experience for Nicole and I. thanks for organising such a great meeting.
See you all soon, Daniele and Nicole |
