Basic camping NSW coast
 

Hi All,

I'm starting to plan a summer ride over Christmas/NY this year, heading north out of Sydney for 8-10 days.

I want to stick to the coast, and camp as much as possible, and be close to beaches as much as possible.

Has anyone got tips for good camp sites along the NSW coast (Syd - Byron)? I don't want any "holiday park" type places. I'm looking for National Park types where it's less organised - and hopefully more quiet!

Hard to beat what with street view!

Yes there is always google maps - but it's very hard to hone in on specifc, good locations. The vast majority that showed up on that link were holiday parks - which I'm trying to avoid.

Does anybody have any specific spots from experience?

The Xmas/NY period is busy in paid or Nat. Parks, especially between the Central Coast and Mid-North. Whatever you choose, book now -- and Nat. Parks also need bookings for the most part. Check their websites for more infoz.
