from experience, and depending on the engine/gearbox configuration you are using, have a think about using XZL.
I've just done a 4500 mile trip on G90s and I reckon my hearing has been damaged, without even joking - I've upgraded my old 90 to TDi though and changed the gearing to disco so it will do 85 fairly happily - the noise genrated on even good quality roads with these is nuts, it's like being in darth vaders tie fighter.
Prior to these though, I ran XZY's, which are totally bombproof, quiet on the road and never had a puncture with one.
I won't be using a mud biased tyre for my next trip.
