Visas for West Africa (Where from?)
Hi, We will be Driving from the UK down the West side of Africa starting early 2009. I am hoping to get some info on where are the best places to get visas for each country on the way down. The order of countries are:
Mauritania Senegal The Gambia Mali Burkina Faso Ghana Togo Benin Nigeria Cameroon Gabon Any help would be great, Thanks |
For RIM a transit visa is available at the border, but it is easier to stop in Rabat and collect both RIM and Mali visas.
Senegal - you can get the visa in Nouakchott, although for EU / US citizens I believe it is available at the border. With an Australian passport, I had to get it in Nouakchott. Gambia is at the border. Burkina Faso at the border. Ghana is easily obtainable - consulate in Bamako was helpful for issuing a visa with 9 month validity. Togo - 7 day transit at the border Havent made it to the rest yet. cheers |
EU citizens don't need a visa for Senegal
