Shipping UK-Ethiopia via Mombassa
 

I have a LHD Land Cruiser in UK and planning to ship it via Mombassa to drive and import it to Ethiopia. Will I need a carnet? As far as I can determine a carnet would only be applicable if I intended to return the vehicle to UK.
Also has anyone got some first-hand experience of the customs clearing process at Mombassa? I gather I have to pay Port Handling and Wharfage which seem to be less than US$200 as long as the process is completed within 9 days.
However, I also need to obtain insurance to drive through Kenya and up to Addis Ababa. Does anyone how I can get arrange this?
At the Moyale Kenya/Ethiopia border crossing, I understand I need to show that I have had a yellow fever jab. Will I be asked to get a Temporary Import Permit for the Land Cruiser? If so aprox how much does this cost?
