IRAN to EGYPTO

Hello everyone,

we are planning our next trip, by car

The fact is that we want to go from Spain to Iran, but once there, what do we have to get to Egypt?

Option 1: take a ferry in Khorramshahr to Kuwait and from there to Saudi Arabia. I have doubts that you can enter Saudi Arabia with an Iranian visa? does anyone know if I can or will let me in with my own car and what would be the requirements of papers and the "fees"

Option 2: also cross the Iraqi border by Jomrrachar drive only a few km through Iraq to Safwan and cross the border to Kuwait, then cross the border of Arabia, drive and Egypt. I have the same problem that they let us pass with Irani visa, regardless of security in Iraq

Option 3: Cross the Iraqi border, cross it to Jordan without passing through Arabia or Kuwait, but I don't know if it is feasible to cross IRAK in your own car

Option 4: Go back to Iran and pack the car there to Egypt

What would be the best way to reach Egitpo by car from Iran?

Greetings and thank you

1) There is no ferry from Khorramshahr to Kuwait.

2) Do you have an Iraqi visa? They are only available to people working there, going on pilgrimage or on organised tour groups.

3) As above

4)Shipping to Egypt seems to be a nightmare, check the Overlanding Africa Facebook forum.

Saudi have just started issuing online tourist e-visas. So (providing your car is left hand drive) you theortically could take the ferry from Bandar Abbas to the UAE, drive across Saudi and then take a ferry to Sudan. Not sure if there are ferries to Egypt. I doubt anyone will care about your Iranian visa.

ok, thank you

I think there is a ferry that connects Jeddah (Arabia) with Nuweibba (in Sinai) but I don't know if it currently works or only in summer? or on what dates,

Do you know someone who has entered Arabia with their own car?

I have read here and other forums that there are people who are able to enter Iraq, I still know very well how they do it but it leads me to think that it is possible, but I am worried about the country's instability and security ... but if you can even in a convoy I almost prefer to go through Arabia that I don't see very clearly

I think that the most viable option is still to embark the car in Turkey via Roro in the direction of Egypt, with all the paperwork ...

I don't know of anyone entering Saudi with a car with the new e-visa. A lot of people are waiting to see how this works.

It's easy to get into Iraq without a visa, but only the north (Kurdistan). You need an Iraqi visa to go further south into Iraq proper (Baghdad etc). Iraq is a country you need to research before going. If you make it to baghdad with your own car, you will be one of very, very few who have achieved that.

Egypt is difficult , but I have not been there and don't have a plan to do so. Do some research on the Overlanding Africa FB page - there is a lot of good information there. As I understand, shipping in a 4x4 is either very difficult (i.e. expensive), or impossible. I am not sure if the ban on 4x4s in Sinai has been lifted or not.

ok thanks,

we will be attentive to the electronic visa of Arabia, to see if someone tries and there is news in some forum,

the option to cross Iraq through the south, how do you see it? Is it viable? It would only be a few km, you think they could make a transit "pass" as in other countries in Africa.

I certainly do not think they let me pass this Bagdad with my car, and leaving Jordan, too much risk, there is to cross the whole country.

What about the ban on Sinai, had you read something, still standing? from here to a year many things can happen in the Sinai

Do you know if there is any problem to cross from Arabia to Jordan?

greetings and thanks again
