Twintraveller in Tagish - featuring www.tagish-cabins.com

Dear friends, folks,

after we left Jasper National Park in rain, we enjoyed the Natural Hot Springs before heading
north. When arriving in the next Provincial park we met some oilfield workers who gave us 2 great
days partying in Hinton the whole night. Thanks guys that was fun.

We were heading further north, reaching mile 0 of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek knowing that this road will lead us into Alaska which is still about 2500 km away. The Weather is getting
better and better, now we have 30 Degrees. We followed the Alaska Highway up to the Liard Hot

Springs and further up to Tagish in the Yukon Territory. Although we have already seen lynx,
bears, wolves and other animals we were very excited when we finally saw our first moose. We
didnt believe that there are moose on earth, after 8 weeks in Norway and 8 weeks in Canada
without moose. And this moose was having a bath in a glacier feeded lake waiting for us taking
pictures. Incredible. After we reached Watson Lake on the Alaska Highway we had a hard day riding through one of the many forest fires up here for about 130 km. The smoke was so dark and thick that the sun was just a small red ball and the temperature dropped from 30 to 10 degrees Celsius. The cloud looked like after a vulcano eruption and since 3 days the area is covered in light smoke.

Up here in Tagish, Yukon territory were the famous Yukon River has its spring in one of the
lakes, we met up with Stefan who is currently building his guest cabin and a small campground. He and his wife have a selfbuilded wooden house which is the dream of the Canadian "Blockhaus" We were able to stay with Stefan for three days who gave us a great time going out fishing with his boat on the Tagish Lake. There are thousands of things u can do here, like flying into the
wilderness for fishing, hiking, canoeing or hunting which u can also do here directly in front of the door. In the Wintertime the Northern Lights are wonderful, u can go cross country skiing or do trips with the sled dogs or ski-doos. Whatever u want to do in the North Country, here u will have a great time doing it and the best is not only that it is affordable but also that Stefan will organise it for you. If u haven't planned ur next holiday, just check out www.tagish-cabins.com or write an email to: info@tagish-cabins.com

We are heading further north spending the National Holiday in Whitehorse before going to Dawson City and considering to go the Dempster Highway up to Inuvik. We are already 10 000 km and two month on the road, folks and we have seen just a little piece of whats here to explore.

Thanks for all the lovely emails and the nice and funny remarks in our guestbook

Twintraveller in Tagish featuring www.tagish-cabins.com

Hallo Freunde,

Gaestebuch.
