Twintraveller in Toronto/Niagara Falls 05.05.2004

Hi,

finally after 3 or 4 days of waiting and 6 days in Montreal we received our bikes. After meeting the agent, sitting on his desk to wait until he is working, it went out pretty easily. So next day we were able to ride down to Ottawa accompanied by Peter and Yi, who have been real friends for the last 5 days, giving us a place to sleep and helping us wherever possible. We spent the night near Ottawa on a campground. The first night out in Canada was great. We felt really free. Next day we went down to Kingston, enjoyed the old town. The next day we rode down to Toronto meeting a traveller we have never met before and we received a warm welcome. After being picked up on the road by a biker colleague we never met before, who gave us some warm coffee after riding 3 hours in the rain, we had the chance to experience a real canadian welcome. We stayed here one night and after a 1 day trip to the Niagara Falls we came back to fix our camera and enjoy the friendship with our new German/Canadian friends, before heading north to Manitoulin Island, a small island in one of the great lakes in Canada.

We hope to get u some more news in one or two weeks. Please check out pics from Montreal, Toronto and the Falls on our website.

'Sam Manicoms new book! is a gripping rollercoaster of a two-wheeled journey which takes you riding across some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. This enticing tale has more twists and turns than a Rocky Mountain Pass and more surprises than anyone would expect in a lifetime. There are canyons, cowboys, idyllic beaches, bears, mountains, Californian vineyards, gun-toting policemen with grudges, glaciers, exploding volcanoes, dodgy border crossings and some of the most stunning open roads that a traveller could ever wish to see.
