Happy Xmas from paradise island

Just a quick post to say Happy Xmas and a Happy New Year from the tropical island paradise of Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand.

Things just don't get better than this and I feel I am the luckiest man alive to be a able to be here. There are 7 other overland motorcylists here (Cliff & Jenny Batley, Ralph & Caroline, Peter & Carol and Kate), so we'll be having a 'small' celebration before hitting the surf. It's just a shame that the accomodation on the island is so full that we're getting booted out of our beach huts on Xmas day. Hammock on the beach anybody? And maybe then we'll find time to investigate the rather loud rattle that's emanating from the right hand cylinder head....

Anyway, I'd like to say a massive thankyou to everybody who has taken the time read the WebLog and to follow our exploits. It is so heartening and encouraging to read everybody's comments and receive emails from around the world.

And trust me, in the next update you'll see just how unexpected events can turn things inside out. "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans".

All the best for 2003 and Happy Xmas!

Merry Christmas from all on the S21 project at Taylor Hobson.

Dave Bell says that it is almost as good here - but then he's a sad git anyway ( or so he claims)!

Good luck on Xmas day - if you're sleeping on the beach, don't get the crabs!

Chris et all.

Hi Sean,

Just got a note from your Dad and have logged onto your website for the first time. What you're doing is fantastic and the website is amazing. (Makes our travels seem quite tame!) So, anyway, if you guys are on your way down under you absolutely have to pop by and see your cousin, Sean! You probably aren't aware that I'm living here with my boyfriend Jamie. After travelling around Oz for 5 months, we arrived in Sydney got 'tempory jobs' and in September we decided to stay. We've now got our visas, still got our jobs and a place to stay. Naturally we're having a great time and absolutely love Australia. The only problem is that it's been a long time since we've seen family, although my mum & Richard (stepdad) are arriving on Friday for 3 weeks holiday. It'll be great to see them - it's been 18 months since we left home.

Anyway, hope you had a lovely Christmas and found somewhere to stay. I'll keep my eye on the site and send you details of where we live when you get closer.

Take care, happy travels and a Happy New Year,

Love Alison xxxxx

Happy New Year!

Christmas in Paradise Island mmmmmmm sounds lovely.....you lucky beggar! Where are the photos?

Back to work today, boooooo! Everything the same, Simon has been busy tidying the place up (or so he says)!!!!

Ioannis has gone now, which is a real bummer, but we are in contact everyday at least for now, who knows how it will be when he goes in. So I am feeling sorry for myself and reading your travel log gives me the itchy feet syndrome again.....oooops!

Anyway, keep the news and photos coming they really are great. Keep having a fantastic time (I'm green with envy) Call us when you can. Take care and all the best,
Sharon.

Happy New Year Chaps

It sounds as if your having a ball over there in the tropics, I bet your missing the cloudy skys of Liverpool though?

Hope that rattles not too serious and if it is, well I'm sure you'll fix it anyway. Take it steady and we'll see you when you get back.

Hi Sean
Happy New Year - it's over and done with now and so quick (sure there's a joke there somewhere). Am really jealous of your weather - thinking of booking a trip to a hot and exotic place for next Christmas - are they doing flights to Mars yet?? The YMCA wasn't the same without you on New Years eve!! Keep us posted.

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Ireland Sean and Co. Enjoying your page looks as though your having a terrific time..hope the bike holds out and the rattle in the right cylinder turns out to be no more than some misplaced loose change.. with all the time spent in the saddle you must be walking funny by now, anyway good luck for the rest of the trip..looking forward to updates..Bye.....Gerard (uncle!)
