The grand plan is to ride down through Europe, via France, Switzerland and Italy. Take a boat to Greece, island hop through Greece and then another boat to Mediterranean Turkey. Riding through the middle of winter we'll stick to the coast and enter the Middle East through Syria.
After Syria we'll be aiming for Jordan and then a ferry across the Red Sea to Egypt. The original plan had been to go from Turkey to Iran and then across to UAE, Oman and Yemen and into Africa through Djibouti but a visa application refusal from the Irnaians put the kibosh on this route.
Egypt is our gateway to Africa and once there we head South through Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique ending up, if all goes to plan or plans don't seriously change, in Capetown sometime in September 2007.
At this point Sascha heads back home to start a course at uni and Richard carries on in a different direction until funds or will to travel run out. Ideas at the moment are to go back up the West Coast of Africa or to take it across to India and then maybe round the world via South East Asia and the States....
