Adios to PANCHO VILLA MOTO-TOURS, Hello to MotoDiscovery

PVMT announces name change and new developments for 2004

The international touring company that for over two decades has shared the roads of Mexico and Latin America with thousands of motorcycle touring enthusiasts, announces big changes for 2004. Pancho Villa Moto-Tours founded by Skip Mascorro in 1981, is retiring the namesake and logo inspired by the mustachioed Mexican revolutionary. The name MotoDiscovery will be the new brand, a move that reflects their expanding list of destinations now being offered around the world.

Mascorro states that the decision to change was not an easy one. “We’ve had great fun with the identity that Pancho has given us for 23 years, but we felt that the image was implying that we were just a Mexico travel company. Although Mexico will always be a large part of our travel offerings, we’ve thrown a lot of energy in recent years into taking the lessons learned there to some pretty exotic corners of the globe. I feel that MotoDiscovery is a name that says it all and tells everyone that we are traveling now without boundaries. “

Although the Pancho Villa Moto-Tour name is riding into the sunset, changing the brand to MotoDiscovery is part of a genesis that includes ground breaking tours to new destinations and a fresh infusion of exceptional talent and expertise. Patrick Moffat, a well known operator of tours in the Himalayas, India, China, Bhutan, Mongolia and Tibet, has joined the MotoDiscovery Team bringing, according to Mascorro, “soul" to the organization. “Patrick’s reputation in the world of adventure moto-touring is legendary....he has passion and the kind of cultural sensitivity that I admire and so perfectly portrays what MotoDiscovery is all about. Patrick is at his best when in the challenging environments of India and Asia...he contributes unique talents and spirit to MotoDiscovery and we all will be rewarded by sharing the road with him....he’s the best".

MotoDiscovery will be announcing an expanded listing of tours and destinations worldwide throughout 2004 that include new motorcycle rental & Fly-n-Ride opportunities in Mexico, an exclusive arrangement for BMW motorcycle rentals out of Beijing will for the first time allow Fly-n-Ri de tours in China and for those who want real challege, the Peking to Calcutta 2005 Extreme Expedition that will include China, Tibet, the Himilayas, Bhutan and India.
