Comments:

I had to ship both bikes from Bogota to North America. I read about Lyncargo on the HUBB and on ADVRider and decided to give them a try. I contacted Veronica to know shipping prices to different cities in Canada and USA and she got back to me in the next 2 days with all the places I requested but they were all very expensive. So I asked her about the price to ship to Miami: $890 estimate! Perfect, sold, I ship to Miami and will simply have to ride the bikes up to Calgary, Alberta!

*But first start with this:*
When I crossed from Venezuela to Colombia I put the 2 bikes under my name, So I had 2 Permisos under the same name, which at the end saved me LOTS of money! If you plan to ship out of Colombia and you are travelling with 2 bikes(friends or couples), get the DIAN (aduana) to write your temporary vehicle importation permit under the same name.
This saved me around $300 on the shipping!
The reason why it saved me this much money is because Lyncargo was able to ship the bikes together as 1 invoice instead of having to make 2 invoices (which involves charging twice for many papers) It's all about bureaucracy but I like bureaucracy when it saves me money. :)

So once I got in Bogota and went to see Veronica, which speaks perfect English(she lived in Canada for a few years), It was very easy to ship the bikes!

Just make sure to get there early in the morning, I was there in early afternoon and I had to go back the next day to finish the process( police inspection and aduana) but that was no big deal.

I offered to pay cash with US dollars in Bogota but Veronica assistant told me it would be simpler to pay collect when I get to Miami. Once I got at the Centurion office in Miami they charged me $50US for paying collect instead of having prepaid in Bogota. I sent an email to Veronica about that after and she replied to me right away explaining that she could not take the payment in US dollars in Colombia, that it had to be in Pesos. And also that if I had paid in Colombia I would have had to pay an extra 16% tax( or 137$) which was waved caused I paid in Miami instead. So all that to say that she really made it the cheapest possible cost she possibly could!

When you contact her by email she will tell you the GPS coordinates abd address and give you directions to get to her office and also where to pick up the bikes in Miami.

For your personal flight to get to Miami, check options to go to Fort Lauderdale airport(FLL) instead. I flew with JetBlue for only $384 which was a lot cheaper than flying to Miami International(MIA) and it's only a short train ride away!

If you have any more questions email me at amer...@hotmail.com

Have a good ride
