Comments:

Interfreight gave us some prices about the shipping and these looked fine. So we started with him and everything was fine just the point that we wanted a totally closed crate so they had his people fixed it afterwards. There were a few people to help to crate the bike which was a welcome help. But you have to look what they're doing while your busy. When we went to the office to collect the papers they wanted more then they said before, also for the crate. Cause they said the cost is more for totally closed, but they said it was a closed crate from the beginning. Anyway,Prasana Kumar, the manager is a reasonable person so you can discus the price and they know how to do their job. They handle it very professionally. The only thing was that they couldn't give us the costs we had to pay on the other side altough we had the email and could have checked it ourselves, which I will do the next time. This way you get an idea how much they charge on the other side.

Costs: +6000 IR paperwork and service from Interfreight +1000 IR for the crate and the labour(after discussion)+5000 IR for the freight. These prices are in Indian Roepees and at the time 1 US$=48 IR

When we arrived in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia,we went to Port Klang (Klang Bus Station, nr.58) to check the office.

Because there name was on the bill of lading it turned out we had to pay them around 90$(?). Very strange in our opinion. To clear the papers and get the motorbike out we should pay 230$(???). This was way too much! So we discussed the day after the price and got it down to 150$ which was still enough. We asked them if we could join them to the customs to see how it worked, this was no problem. We wanted to do it ourselves but they said it would take us 4-5 days and probably some more money. So the next day we went to the customs with one of their man and it seems that he knew his way very well because it took us only 1 hour to get the stamps on the papers and the Carnet. Another hour later we were standing in the port to take the crate apart. There was only 1 man to get the bike and than we had to fix the front wheel and some other things before we could go. But this was on a Friday and then the customs checking in the port closes at 12.30 so we had to hurry up. But after all it didn't take so long as we thought it would be.

One more thing: We took the front wheel out and the mud-guard off to have a smaller volume. So we had a volume of 1,9 m3 inside measurements. But they (customs in port)take the outside measurements wich you have to pay on. This was with us 2,7 m3, you don't have any discussion on this but I thouhgt that it was a big measurement.

We were happy with the services but less happy with the prices we had to pay. And we still had to bargain on these prices.

We hope somebody else can do something with this info and they're always free to contact us.

Greetings from Jurgen and Greet!!!!(Belgium)
