Thanks for volunteering to help at the meeting!

These events are a lot of work, and we need all the help we can get. With only a few people working on the event, it's very easy to get burned out - I know! :(

IF: You have NOT YET registered for your event:

Save time and just go to the Meetings page, choose your event, and on the Registration page tick the Volunteer box and you will be able to make all the choices there - without the extra stuff again like your name :)

IF: You have already registered for an event and DID NOT volunteer on that page:

Volunteering:

So we'd greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time - your help can make it a lot more fun for everyone, and you'll have fun working with everyone else too to make it a better event.

NOTE: We will reply personally to confirm details and answer any questions you may have.

We want you to have fun, and not take up too much of your time at the Meeting. So how do we do that?

  1. Standard shift is 2 hours, except where it's only 5 minutes at a time or on call, or as noted below. You're welcome to do more if you wish!
  2. We'll make sure you're not working when you want to see a presentation.

Tasks we need YOUR help with:

NOTE: We always need extra help on Wednesday for setup, and cleanup Sunday to about 1:00pm. Thanks!

Tech help - setting up presenters. Must have VERY good experience with laptops, PowerPoint, digital projectors, sound on laptop presentations etc.
Reception Gate Committee - meet and greet folks at the gate and tell them where to go - in the nicest possible way! 2 hour shifts.
Registration Desk - minimum of two 4 hour shifts. This is where it's all happening!
Charity Draw ticket sales - carry the tickets around and sell them to whomever! Also deal with vendor donations for Charity Prize Draw - set up display table.
General go-fer/Assistant - as needed, run errands, signs, posters, schedule, whatever...
First Aid, Medic, Doctor - skills required needless to say! :) On call only.
Post event cleanup crew. An easy one - generally we leave it VERY clean, but good to have a few people get the last little bits. This means no earlier than Sunday noon departure for you.
Photographer - stills. Shoot people and events for the webpage after the event. Must pick and size photos and preferably post on HUBB.
Recycling crew - Many bigger events ignore this aspect or don't place enough emphasis on keeping the world, their site and the facilities in order. HU does. Help, and you'll be making a difference for everyone.
Ride Team - Leader or Ride sweep rider, work out routes etc.
