www.twowheelednomad.com - About Us

Our site www.twowheelednomad.com is dedicated to motorcycle travel, the best way we feel to see the world. We are Jason and Lisa, no strangers to independent travel having visited many countries in the last thirteen years together.  Our main motivation was for all things SCUBA!  We met on a diving holiday in Egypt in 2000 and from there on, devoted our time to diving, underwater photography and adventure travel.  We became scuba diving instructors in 2006 and worked in Egypt as dive guides.  Jason also working as an underwater videographer/photographer.  Only  recently was the idea to continue our travels in the saddle of a motorcycle born.  Jason has had many motorcycles since the age of sixteen, however, I am brand new to this thrilling mode of transport, having only passed my test in July 2012.

I ride a 2001 BMW F650GS with 27,000 miles on the clock, it’s fitted with Metalmule aluminium panniers. Jason rides a 2008 BMW F800GS with 10,000 miles on the clock again with Metalmule, aluminium panniers.

In February 2014, we plan to ride our bikes onto a container ship (we will be accompanying them)  and sailing to Montevideo in Uruguay.  From there we will be travelling south down to Patagonia.  We then head north all the way to New York not before visiting Prudhoe Bay in Alaska.

This is a loose plan, which could all change when we are on the road, who knows may end up being a round the world trip..!  The plan is to film and photograph our experiences as they unfold with the intention of producing a creditable film that will capture the dynamic landscapes, people and wildlife of the Americas and beyond.  The trip will feature the unmissable places but will know doubt feature some hidden surprises too plus some of the best diving the world has to offer.

Our blog www.twowheelednomad.com is an honest view of our bikes, the equipment we use, the places, and experiences we encounter en route.  We will review as many of these as possible.
