Yamaha XT600E - Replacement Footpegs?

Has anyone ever heard of or come across replacement foot pegs?

Both my XT6's have OEM foot pegs. I find them a bit small and uncomfortable when trying to come off the saddle. :(

I'm looking for larger pegs which will provide a bit more support.

Whoever designed the OEM foot pegs did a tardy job. Although they are fit for purpose (just) I would have thought they would have been a bit wider bearing in mind much off road riding is spent standing off the saddle.

I would prefer some wide, shiny bling replacements?

They will need to fit existing foot peg mount platform thingy including spring assembly to allow them to retract upwards if hit from the front.

Alloy ones would be good. They will go with the nice shiny OEM rear pegs. Come to think of it, the rear foot pegs look a lot more comfortable than the existing rider pegs.

I would consider bespoke pegs if the price is right.

Any ideas lads?

This subject has been talked about a while back..
I've got
ebay: TW200 foot pegs

I've got a pair on my XT and they are great!
They are direct swap from the ones on the XT and are much wider.

I bought the 200 pegs and honestly it felt like crap using them, its ok that your foot rest good, but off and on when riding offroad was not good at all. It feels like your stuck on the peg, and they dont look good at all on the bike! I could sell you these handycap pegs cheap but shipping is too expensive from Norway..

I actually like them.. tho I do have a longer gear shift lever! :)

I got the chaep tw200 pegs and love them, cant see the problem :confused1:

A few other guys I ride with have'em aswell, and I've fitted them on onther bikes aswell (dt175 and xt350)

I agree the tw200 are very good. I have had once or twice where my foot has stuck to the peg when putting my foot down. But no reason to not like them.....

Better than then they slip off when riding out if the saddle

Yeah, TW200 pegs here, can't fault them TBH.

Cheap solution. If you have spare pegs...

Just got them myself, really nice.

I have just ordered 2 sets - one for each of my XT's.

JOB DONE.

Thanks to all you guy's who informed me of this excellent piece of equipment.

Well happy. :D

I presume they come with everything you need and are easy to fit????doh

pusser65 29 Jul 2013 19:00

They are a doddle to fit being a direct replacement. Th only issue I had was that on one side I had to drill a hole for the return spring as the hole was in the wrong place. I can't remember if it was the right or the left one.

Well worth the effort.

Jens Eskildsen 30 Jul 2013 19:37

Yeb, you need to drill a single hole in one of'em. :D
