Hi,

Tank has now been sold to a 'Hubber' who will no doubt put it to good use!

Matt :)

The thing is Jens that nobody likes a smart arse, so stop being one. Otherwise I'll be putting the gypsy curse on your luvverly, shiny black tank.

Hi guys,

Sorry if this irritated people. I posted the fact that the tank was on ebay because I know that second hand ones are tricky to get hold of and hoped a fellow traveller might make good use of it.

I never normally end ebay auctions early, as you usually make more money by waiting it out, but in this case decided to as a FAVOUR to a fellow HUBBer. I preffered to sell my tank to a HUBBer because I felt it would be more appreciated.

I could probably have made more money by waiting it out, but sold to Jens because of a loyalty to the HUBB and all the great info I've had from it over the years.

Sorry if you wanted the tank and didn't get it, however, I'm dissapointed that my attempt to 'give something back' has resulted in criticism. I'm selling some more touring kit soon, but will leave the auction open till the end. Any HUBBers will just have to pay the going rate!

Matt :(

PS- I would say, however, that I'm perfectly happy with Jens payment, which was made swiftly and he communicated well throughout.

PS- Tank looks great, Jens!

:)

Matt,
my only 'moan' is that you didn't make it clear you were happy to accept offers from Hubbers. My own fault I suppose for not having the nous to ask you.
It would help if you, or anyone else with stuff on ebay, clarifies this when you post the message.
Your motivation for selling it to Jens is admirable, it's just that I wish I had got in there!

And if you happen to be flogging a headlight surround for a late XT, then I'm interested!

Geoff,

No worries, I'm just new to selling stuff on ebay etc. so don't always get stuff right.

Matt :)

Hi, i don't want to interupt the handbag fight but i have an Acerbis 23L tank that i would sell for £80, it is ready to bolt on with all taps, cap etc. my son used it on our 2 month bike tour this summer. it has no leaks and the only small issue being the cap sometimes cross threads when being fitted. i may also have a clock surround and a few other bits, clocks, headlight, sump guard (standard), side panels. I have not advertised these anywhere yet, so if interested email me at A.Burke@gsa.ac.uk.
I have photos of the XT in my facebook, AndrewBurke.
Cheers Andy

I've sent messages to you Andy as I'm interested in the tank.

Geoff
