Hello,

Thanks for your input. The rack cost £75 so I think a 33% discount is reasonable for a rack in excellent condition.

If no-one wants to pay that much for my eBay item they don't have to, no-one is twisting any arms.

Cheers

I hope you're in no rush to sell.

And welcome to the site.

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm in no hurry to sell and will keep it as a back up if it doesn't. I've bought the Hepco & Becker rack for the bike and the Yamaha rack is a much better fit.

They're over £80 now, so £50 isn't too bad.
But I'm curious as to what you've put in its place, and why.

Hi Geoff,

I've got a full Hepco & Becker luggage rack, but only using the rear rack at the moment along with a TC50 top box. I would have gone for a top box with a universal plate to use on the Yamaha rack but decided to go with the H&B as I'll be using the full rack for a trip next year.

An expensive option, but strong and durable. I use a Givi monkey 45ltr topbox on my Yamahe rack. No long trips planned for a while but very useful for everyday needs. It will probably go with me when I do eventually start traveling. I'm fairly sure it will do the job.

Just for information for anyone thinking of bidding: I got one of these racks last year. It's sold in the Yamaha catalogue as for all XT600Es, but it is really tailored for the 4PT model. It will fit the 3TB (mine), but only with some washers to pack out the bolt on the right side, and you need to cut away quite a lot of the tailpiece plastic on the left. Also, you will need to grind off one or two of the luggage hooks on the rear frame. I did all this, and it fits fine and is lasting well, but if you have a 3TB you should be aware it isn't a straightforward fit.

Well the rack sold first time round for £63.50. It looks like I had a realistic price set.

It seems like the newer XT stuff sells well on eBay.
