XTZ660 tenere

Does anyone know if the clocks from a Super Tenere will fit an XTZ660 (3YF)twin headlight model.

Also looking for panels, front wiring harness & headlights for the same model..... help :confused1:

Clocks look the same, but i haven't checked the connectors. I'll be doing a stripdown of both bikes (ST and 3YF twin lights) in a matter of few weeks, so i can check it out, if you're still interested.
The front lights and their frame for the 660 are essentially the same as on the TDR 125 model, even the foam thingy in front of the frame is the same. You'll certainly find some of that on ebay (i got one light and frame for approx 20 pounds with shipping from UK to Slovenia a few months ago).
Fairings are major PITA to get hands on and sell for insane amounts if in one piece. If you stumble along left rear fairing, let me know :thumbup1:

Good luck

brilliant, thanks for that, I'm gonna be rebuilding a 3YF soon as I've finished my 3AJ & trying to find all the parts before I start.

The fairings are still available from dealers, front one is about £90 & the side ones about £220... :eek3:
will definitely be interested to find out about the clocks :thumbup1:

Are you the guy from ADV restoring the green 3AJ? If so, i am one of the popcorn munchers :thumbup1:

Let me know if you'll need any workshop manuals or part catalogues... I'll be restoring (mechanically for now) my fathers 1989 S10 this summer, as soon as i finish my exams. After that the 3YF (well, actually 4MY since it is a twin eyed monster :mchappy: from '95) gets it's share of care/paint/polish ...

offtopic: would anyone in the UK order the TW200 wide pegs from Hong Kong for me and ship them over? As i just found out i live in a deep cave the mail from HK doesn't get to :cursing: (it gives me peace of mind that my neighbours from italy live in it also :biggrin3:).

Yes its me doing the green 3AJ :thumbup1: still got a while to go on that one....

I have a single headlight 3YF & a twin headlight one, not sure if I'm gonna do the single headlight one tho.. Which year TDR lamps fit the Tenere? I noticed on ebay the later ones are a bit different.

I don't mind orderin your pegs for you, let me know the details

Well, at least you're doing the good work on the 3AJ while i'm still gathering all the bike parts for the summer. :Beach:

I saw the single headlight on mezo's thread, it looks quite OK, but in my opinion the 2 headlight is the way to go, way more retro sexy :thumbup1:. As i recall all the parts except for the fairings and dash are completely the same as Yamaha was only doing a face lift...

Wouldn't know what year the TDR125 should be, but i found some headlights that will fit on german ebay.
Scheinwerfer / Licht / Maske + Birnen - Yamaha TDR 125 bei eBay.de: Markenspezifische Teile (endet 28.06.10 18:03:16 MESZ)
or
Yamaha TDR 125 - Frontscheinwerfer Scheinwerfer Licht bei eBay.de: Leichtkraftradteile (endet 17.07.10 21:29:16 MESZ)

Have in mind though that the TDR has both lights on when in low beam and when in high beam, so you'll have to connect another wire to the second light (well, depends on your XTZ model, some also had the twin low beam).

I have a spare plastic headlight frame laying somewhere in the garage, in case you'll need one. It's not as new, but would do the work.

I'm looking for them el cheapo TW200 wide pegs from Hong Kong and they are apparently not shipping to half of the world. If you can order them for me i'll pay all of the expenses, of course

There is an excellent site for the XTZ660, sadly in german but uncle Google helps a little with that.

.......as on the german market are quite some italian re-imported XTs, XTZs, TDMs and TDRs make sur they carry H4 in the headlights, the italian models don´t - better ask on ebay before you push the button.

Just my 2 cents

Checked out those TDR headlamps, they appear to have different mounting holes don't know which ones to go for???

Geoff,

both of the light clusters on german ebay i've posted here are the same, first one is just upside down and has the TDR front cover on (which doesn't fit on XTZ). You're looking for the plastic ones as these are, the metal ones on the ebay.co.uk are older and do not fit.
Actually, it just clicked somewhere in the vast emptiness of my skull that the XTZ750 headlights looked very similar to the XTZ660. I went to look at both of the part catalogues and the complete headlight assembly is totally the same down to the last part number. You'll have more options and there is only one model of Super10, so less confusion :thumbup1:
